Rehoming & Surrender
Whitman County Humane Society (WCHS) is a limited-admission shelter, which means we may not be able to accept animals immediately due to space limitations. We recognize that surrendering a pet can be a challenging decision, and we approach each situation with understanding and without judgment.
If you need to surrender your pet, please reach out to us. We can discuss ways to help you keep your pet or direct you to resources on our Pet Support Program page. If surrender is necessary, fill out our Owner Surrender Form. We will inform you about space availability and support you in rehoming your pet if necessary.
While waiting, we will assist in creating a courtesy listing on PetFinder.com for private rehoming. The “Pullman Pets & Animals” Facebook group is also a useful resource for finding a new home for your pet.
Once space is available, we will schedule an appointment for the surrender. Please note that we cannot accept pets that are severely aggressive and reserve the right to refuse any surrender to ensure the safety of our staff and other animals.
