Why Foster?
Fostering a pet is an incredibly rewarding experience, whether it's a dog or a cat. Pets who have faced neglect or hardship learn to trust and love again in a nurturing foster home. They show their appreciation with loyalty and affection, enriching your life in return. Fostering offers flexibility; whether you can commit for a day, a weekend, or longer, every bit helps. Witnessing a pet, be it a dog or a cat, transform and find their forever home is deeply fulfilling, knowing you've made a profound difference in their life.
We provide supplies, medical care, and more. You provide a loving home. Together we save a life.
Fostering FAQ’s
-
It depends on a variety of factors like the type of foster care you're interested in and the time of year. Sometimes, you could be matched with an animal in just a few days, while other times, it might take a few months. For instance, kitten fosters are often needed urgently in the spring, while more specialized roles, like medical fosters, may have longer wait times due to the rarity of those cases.

While fostering has many benefits, it's often best for an animal to remain at the shelter to meet potential adopters unless they are not ready for adoption or aren't thriving in the shelter environment. Our staff, with help from our medical advisor, carefully assess each situation to decide if an animal should be placed in foster care to ensure it’s in the best interest of the pet and the person fostering them.
